Mounting suggestion for protecting bushes

Instructions for deploying your Peregrine Pro Hawk Kite to protect 12’ high bushes such as haskaps, saskatoons, highbush blueberries or hazel nuts.

I cut a piece of PVC piping so it goes from the bottom of the bucket to the top of the bucket rim, in my case that is about 14 inches. I put a piece of duct tape over the bottom of the PVC piping (to keep the concrete out of the pipe while it hardens) and then pour half the bag of quickset cement and water into the bucket around the PVC pipe and mix the two with the PVC piping in the centre of the bucket. Then add the second half of the bag of cement mixture and water and finish mixing it all together. The cement sets up quickly and easily holds the pipe in place.

The interior diameter of the PVC piping is 1 inch and the exterior of the piping is about 1 3/8 inches in diameter.

The cement comes about 2/3 of the way up the bucket when all mixed, but it is more than heavy enough to hold the bucket in place when put in a hole in the ground.

I used two pieces of 6-foot steel T bar connected together with mechanical pipe connecters to provide the extra height I needed to ensure the Hawk Kite would not hit the hazelnut trees when it swooped down. The height of the two T bars is about the same height as the Hazelnut bushes.
